    Description

As Senior Officer of the EFTA Surveillance Authority, in Brussels, was responsible for the supervision of the uniform application and implementation in the EFTA States of a number of EU Directives covering fish and fish products, fresh meat, meat products, milk and milk products, residues in food of animal origin, fresh poultry meat, animal health issues, and other relevant decisions and recommendations in these fields.

Lead inspector in numerous inspection missions to the EFTA States and observer in several inspection missions to the EU Member States in co-operation with the Food and Veterinary Office of the EU (FVO).

Participated in negotiations on the EEA Agreement in the veterinary field. Responsible for supervising the introduction of border inspection posts in Iceland and Norway, as these countries became part of the EU's external veterinary border. Inspected all the selected sites in 1998 and 1999 and evaluated the construction plans and progress made.
